One more sleep until the first Highwayman Challenge – hope you are looking forward to it as much as we are.
The forecast has improved radically in the last 24hrs, so it should be comfortable conditions for riding 100km. We sent a team around the route today to check it over and its still as beautiful as it was last week!
A couple tips and pointers:
In the morning we aim to open registration at 0830. We can’t get into the Academy until 0800 so please bear with us while we set up.
All participants will be issued with your brevet control card and a route sheet, and riders are free to set off from 0900. Due to the large numbers participating we will need to stagger the start in groups of 30 or so. Fear not, everyone will be away on time by registration cut off at 0930.
Control points will be manned by Ayr Roads CC members who will simply stamp your card during the official opening hours. Remember, if you go over the maximum speed you will need to wait at a control until it opens.
No one will be left on the course if stuck – we’ll send a sweeper van around shortly after the controls close.
Retro Bike Competition:
If you haven’t already seen the prize on offer, go here now!
Just let the guys on registration know that you wish to take part and they’ll take a snap of your machine and note of your name. The winner will be decided by the judging team by the time you return.
Support MS Society!
We are promoting the Highwayman Challenge to raise funds for MS Society Scotland. You’ll noticed the entry was super cheap, so you should have some spare pennies to help out. Donation’s are starting to trickle in – please help us raise our £1,500 target by visiting our justgiving page now http://www.justgiving.com/HighwaymaymanChallenge
Have a great night, and see you tomorrow,
